Indigenous Private Law Conference

The Journal of Commonwealth Law, in cooperation with the Faculties of Law at the Université de Montréal, the University of Cape Town, and Western University will host a symposium devoted to exploring the issues inherent in Indigenous private law. The conference will explore a variety of questions, including, What norms govern matters relating to Property, Persons and Family, or Succession? Is there an Indigenous law of Contract or Tort, or a law relating to (commercial) associations? The conference will offer perspectives from around the Commonwealth from different theoretical frames of reference or methodologies of inquiry. Please plan to join us.
